Working with Somerset Council, LiveWest and Clarion Housing, the project demonstrated how drone-enabled surveys can deliver faster, safer and more accurate asset condition data to support better maintenance planning and investment decisions.
Three pilots were delivered across Somerset and Plymouth to assess how drone technology can improve the management of housing and public sector buildings. By creating detailed 3D digital models and thermal surveys, the project showed how organisations can identify defects, monitor building condition and move towards a more proactive approach to maintenance. The findings highlight opportunities to reduce costs, improve safety, lower carbon emissions and support more effective asset management through digital innovation.
