FFIZ to Join UK Pavilion at Farnborough International Airshow

Somerset Council’s Future Flight Innovation Zone (FFIZ) will be representing the South West at this year’s Farnborough International Airshow, joining the UK Pavilion on Stand 1120 to showcase the region’s growing strengths in advanced aviation, autonomy and innovation.

Farnborough is one of the world’s most influential aerospace events, bringing together government, industry, investors and technology leaders. FFIZ’s presence on the UK Pavilion will ensure the South West is visible and connected within national conversations shaping the future of aviation, defence innovation and emerging technologies.

With UK Defence Innovation (UKDI) emphasising the importance of civil‑sector innovation in delivering future capability, noting that “the fastest route to Defence capability runs through civil technology” the South West’s blend of testbeds, skills programmes, industry partnerships and local authority leadership is increasingly aligned with national priorities.

Being part of the UK Pavilion will allow FFIZ to engage directly with programme leads, primes, SMEs and government teams exploring new technologies, supply chain opportunities and regional partnerships. It also reinforces Somerset Council’s commitment to ensuring the region remains at the forefront of Future Flight development and well positioned for upcoming opportunities across both civil and defence markets.

FFIZ looks forward to connecting with partners throughout the week and highlighting the South West’s role as a leading environment for innovation, collaboration and future aviation capability.
